Inova Loudoun Hospital Pediatric Services Serving Loudoun Children Right Here, Right Now!
While Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) talks vaguely about enhanced pediatric services for the future, Inova Loudoun Hospital has been delivering higher level services to children and families right here in Loudoun County.
Loudoun Hospital has a recognized Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The hospital already operates a dedicated pediatric emergency department and a pediatric inpatient unit – staffed 24/7 by a team of experienced pediatric hospitalists providing compassionate, around-the-clock care.
The Trouble with Broadlands/HCA
HCA recently announced a partnership with Children's National Medical Center (CNMC), without really saying specifically what kinds of services Loudoun County can expect. One thing that is clear, however – BRMC and CNMC are not proposing a full-service hospital for children in northern Virginia. Loudoun children with complicated medical cases will be transferred to Children's National in southeast Washington, D.C, across the Potomac River. That’s because Children's National has a history of aligning itself with smaller-scale clinical outposts in northern Virginia to serve as a patient feeder system for its Washington, D.C.- based hospital.
The Difference Loudoun Hospital Makes
Loudoun Hospital's commitment is to treat your child right here at home, with the respect and care that our youngest residents deserve, with a sophisticated array of locally available medical services. If a higher level of care is needed, Inova Loudoun Hospital, as part of Inova Health System, is seamlessly connected to Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children – the only children's hospital in Northern Virginia. The Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children is internationally recognized as having one of the best pediatric cardiac centers in the world.
Together, Inova Loudoun Hospital and Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children work as a team to deliver the expertise and compassion that every family deserves. Through communication, electronic data transfer and guidance, Inova Loudoun Hospital and Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children provide world-class care.
